Aquila Nidus Montessori School

Why Aquila Nidus

Authentic Montessori, practised faithfully

Many schools use the word Montessori. Here is exactly what it means in our classrooms, so you can compare with confidence.

What makes us different

Our guides

AMI-trained lead guides at every level

Training is not optional or partial. Each community has an AMI-trained lead guide with assistants, and our Head of Learning is AMI 0–3 certified.

02

A protected three-year cycle

Children’s House is a true 3–6 mixed-age community of 24–30 children, so older children lead and younger children learn by watching.

03

Full-day, uninterrupted work

The long morning work cycle is preserved. Concentration is treated as something to protect, not interrupt.

04

A community of eighty-five

Our capacity of 85 children is a deliberate limit. Small enough that every adult knows every child.

Inclusion

Children with additional needs are welcome here

We begin with careful observation and build from there, always alongside you.

Observation first

We watch closely before we conclude anything, and we share what we see.

Individualised strategies

Adjustments to the environment, presentation and routine that suit your child.

Parent collaboration

Strategies are agreed with you so home and school stay consistent.

Learning support

Targeted in-school support where a child benefits from it.

Specialist referral network

Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Behavioural Therapy.

Honest conversations

If a need is beyond what we can serve well, we say so and help you find the right fit.

Assessment

How we know your child is progressing

No tests, no grades, no traditional homework for children aged 0–6.

01

Montessori observation

Guides keep detailed observation and developmental records for each child across every area of the environment.

02

Termly conferences and reports

You meet your child’s guide each term and receive a written report of progress and next steps.

03

Meaningful work at home

Instead of homework, we may suggest simple, meaningful ideas: practical life tasks, reading together, conversation.

Where our children go next

Families choose the primary school that suits them, and we support that decision with observation records, a written report and an honest conversation about readiness. Graduates have moved on to schools such as:
